Ricardo Cardona is a self-trained chef with over twenty years of experience in American, French and Latin cuisines. Chef Cardona, who came to the United States from Central America at the online essay writer age of 15, started off his career in the restaurant business as a dishwasher. He continued his way through the ranks as a food runner and eventually a line cook. Cardona would borrow books and dictionaries from the Culinary Institute of America to read during his free time in order to keep up with the others. Today, Cardona has worked in some of the nation’s leading restaurants, where his hands-on training is evident through his work which portrays a fusion of culinary styles.
Cardona has been a Consulting Chef at Disney Land’s largest Latin restaurant, Y Arriba Y Arriba, Hudson River Café and Z BAR, as well as Executive Chef at Sazon, Sofrito, and Mamajuana Café, Time Café, Lua, and Josephina. In addition, as a lover of baseball, he is proud to be the personal chef to the New York Yankees and visiting team.
Chef Cardona’s cuisine has delighted luminaries such as Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, and the New York Knicks. He has shared his expertise and creative talents across major television networks, including the popular cooking pay for an essay competition show “Chopped,” as well as helping struggling restaurateurs on the TLC International show “Mission Menu”. He continues to make appearances on numerous prime time channels including Good Morning America, Despierta America!, FOX, WPIX 11, and CBS.
